Amazon Web Services Announces Chime, Enters Unified Communications Arena

On February 13, Amazon Web Services (AWS) announced the availability of Chime, the company’s voice, video, and chat communications service. Chime is a fully-managed service running on AWS’ cloud infrastructure, enabling the solution to be offered as an application with AWS’ security, networking, and storage features built in. Blue Hill provides guidance on the announcement in the context of AWS’ overall enterprise strategy, as well as in relation to current AWS competitors such as Microsoft, Google, and Cisco.
